Walter Kovacs

After reading a good story, my imagination goes on overdrive. I dream of otherworldly landscapes, bizzare creatures and the most convoluted of plots. And as I go through the story again, the words call out to me, their meaning becoming clearer to me each time I see them.

And I draw.

Behold, the masked Rorschach.

It's definitely refreshing, to read about masked heroes who are as flawed, if not more flawed then we mortals are.
"Stood in firelight, sweltering. Bloodstain on chest like map of violent new continent. Felt cleansed. Felt dark planet turn under my feet and knew what cats know that makes them scream like babies in night. Looked at sky through smoke heavy with human fat and God was not there. The cold, suffocating dark goes on forever and we are alone. Live our lives, lacking anything better to do. Devise reason later. Born from oblivion; bear children, hell-bound as ourselves, go into oblivion. There is nothing else. Existence is random. Has no pattern save what we imagine after staring at it for too long. No meaning save what we choose to impose. This rudderless world is not shaped by vague metaphysical forces. It is not God who kills the children. Not fate that butchers them or destiny that feeds them to the dogs. It’s us. Only us. Streets stank of fire. The void breathed hard on my heart, turning its illusions to ice, shattering them. Was reborn then, free to scrawl own design on this morally blank world. Was Rorschach. Does that answer your questions, Doctor?"

- Rorschach, Watchmen.

Are there moral absolutes?

What do you do when right or wrong don't seem so apparent anymore? Flip a coin, or go with what you really believe in?

Sometimes we just need to have the courage to stand up and do what's right, even though every one else disapproves. The line between madness and heroism is a thin one, but then again the ability to believe in your own convictions is what I believe really makes a man.

Even if the tyrants that you're battling throw you into prison for no good reason whatsoever but you still remain unrepentant. That really is a mark of a true man.

One more day till D-day. Just one more day. Fingers still crossed.

Let's keep fighting for what's right, no matter what.
